Look for Less: Adam Spring 2012

White Dress from Adam's Spring 2012 collection. Dress is probably $700+

ASOS sale $34.02

Steve Madden @ Endless.com $99.95

Google Calendar Set: Sunday 7:30am Jason Wu @ Target

Atlhough Jason Wu's collection for Target is scheduled to be at selected stores from 2/5-3/6/12 most likely all the pieces will have a rack life of um...120 minutes. Prices range from $19.99 to $59.99 while accessories will most likely be $19.99 to $49.99. This line is inspired by the idea of an American girl in Paris. I'm going to try to get up at 7am to get there 30 minutes before Target opens. Let's see though...if there is one thing I love more than fashion it's sleep :-)

Check this out: Dorothy Perkins

Dorothy Perkins is one of the BIGGEST fashion retailers in the UK. The clothes are trendy, stylish, and highly affordable. Clothes come in lots of sizes and they ship to the USA -free shipping over $75 or a flat rate of $10 with any purchase. Some of my fave looks:

$57 -Pair with high wedge shoes & large round sunglasses for that 70's chic look

SALE $27 -This dress is a steal! Pair with nude shoes ,tie hair in a high pony tail, slip on a dazzling cocktail ring, and stack on some statement bracelets.

$49. If you have the figure to rock this dress buy it! Turquoise earrings would  add a modern touch.

$39 -a wayyy cheaper version of the Marc by Marc Jacobs dress and you don't have to pre-order it!

$39 This dress would look amazing with  pretty much any jacket -sherpa lined, trench, motorcycle, or even a  jean jacket.

Show Me the Rewards

A few days ago my friend dragged me into Sephora ->o.k. it was more like "Let's stop in here". Anyways, I ended up buying some amazing eye cream (Peter Thomas Roth Instant FIRMx Eye). If a trip to Sephora isn't already a treat on its own the cashier informed me that I had enough Beauty Insider points for a deluxe gift =Score. I ended up getting a full sized jar of the Ole Hendriksen Sheer Transformation moisturizer which retails for $45. The guy also gave me the complimentary birthday  gift: Fresh Kisses Mini Lip Duo -even though my birthday is four months away. Love this place :-)

Shoes that Scream "LEAVE Me the F**K Alone"

If I were still in my moto (short for motorcycle) boho chic phase I would totally buy a pair of these shoes. Besides the fact that they make a bold fashion statement they are also a weapon. Imagine
you are at a bar and some drunken loser won't stop irritating you. Just "accidentally" kick him, make a cutesy face,  say "oh I'm sorry" and walk away. I personally love the BCBG studded ankle boots but the Sam Edelman pair are hot too and more reasonably priced.

BCBG.com $325 at Ebay.com selected sizes $170

Sam Edelman "Lorissa" Peeptoe Pumps SALE $135 @ Bloomingdales.com

Check this out: Urban 1972

Just stumbled upon this new website: www.Urban1972.com. The site describes themselves as "Hot L.A. Fashions At Affordable Prices". I really love the look of effortless chic -no description necessary. The dresses below would look great with a pair of heels, booties, or even boots (well except the jumper- don't wear boots with the jumper). All these outfits are under $50.

On sale for $24.99

Let's Look Like a Werewolf Today

This fur lined jacket was featured on hautelook.com  today. I think it is one of the ugliest jackets costing over $5 I have EVER seen. I can't believe the original price is $627. This jacket is reminds me of part sheriff (the metal belt), part werewolf (no explanation needed), and part Wal-mart. If you do not want to look like a werewolf you do have the option of taking off the fur.

Wrong Turn

On Saturday, my husband and I went shopping for a dining buffet. I was driving and made a wrong turn (happens to me a lot) and we ended up at this Berkeley consignment furniture shop: Urban Home Consignment Furniture. There was some interesting finds in there and if our loft was bigger and if my husband didn't have an opinion about everything (which unfortunately he does) I would have picked up some of these great furniture finds. Check them out if you live in the bay area.

4 Bertola style chairs for around $254 -great deal

The leather chair ($700 something) on the right is uber comfy. This is a perfect therapy set up.

I Heart You Jcrew

I opened flipped through my latest Jcrew catalogue this morning and saw everything from last season recycled again only this time in spring colors and accessorized with a leopard belt ->I'm not joking. I did like this "heart throb" outfit which they unusually paired with leopard shoes. Um jcrew stylist if you are reading this blog (which is 0.01 % chance) these two things do not go together o.k.! I originally thought this heart outfit was a dress but when I looked online it is actually two pieces $128 skirt + $135 shirt =too much money for this outfit. It would have probably made more sense if they sold this as a dress ~ maybe even a wrap dress and priced it for under $200. The print is adorable and either piece (or both) would be perfect for Valentine's Day -which um if my husband is reading this (another 0.01 % chance) is only two weeks away.

Green + Navy Deja Vu

Last night I went shopping with my friend Julia -yes, the one that needed to go on a work clothes spree. We stopped in at Banana Republic and I had designer deja vu. These green + navy bags are sooo Kate Spate. They also remind me of a few of the Marc by Marc Jacobs Spring 2012 dresses (pre-order only) as well.

Banana Republic

Kate Spade Academy Stripe Larissa $325
Eames Silk dress $498 Marc by Marc Jacobs

Tate Twill Dress $398   Marc by Marc Jacobs

This morning I was browsing on hautelook.com and saw they were featuring Dulce Mid Century Classics by PANGEA. Many of the pieces are cheaper replicas of DWR pieces but I was really impressed by these purple ghost chairs. These would really brighten up a room. Purple is also one of my favorite colors it just kinda makes you feel warm and happy.

Here are some other purple pieces that would add some pop to any room.

Purple Ikat Pillow...Etsy maybe?

Pouf There It Is!

When our interior designer/feng shui expert/ neighbor first recommended us buying a "pouf" I seriously thought she made up the word. But after I googled the word I realized that it does exists and there are some really cute ones. I really want to purchase one of the West Elm poufs (retail $249) but the Ikea Alseda stool ($30) is just as functional for a fraction of the price.

 West Elm $249
IKEA ALSEDA Stool (stackable if you want to add height) $29.99

The ZEN modern pouf. VivaTerra Felted Wool Stone cushions, $298-595 each

Dress Me Up, Dress Me Down

LOVE this dress from Zara's new collection. I saw it in the store and I was hooked. It's so boho meets effortless chic. You can wear it to a spring wedding with nude heels or rock it out (like the model) with booties and a leather jacket. Dress it down with a Gap jean jacket (sleeves folded of course) and some cork wedges. The dress is a steal at $89.90.

Do You Have Leopard Shoes?

One of my girlfriends sent me a frantic text last night at 7pm. She was had a job interview for a MAJOR but fun cosmetic company and just realized she had NOTHING to wear. NOTHING -because she has been working at start-up tech companies for the past four years where the basic uniform are t-shirts and jeans. After I told her to breathe and not panic I then calmly asked her if she had "Leopard Shoes". Let me explain.. leopard shoes + basically anything (e.g., LBD, black suit, jeans with a white tee, pencil skirt and turtle neck) =chic and stylish. It's basically the next best thing to open toed suede Fall 2011 Prada booties ->ok maybe not but it's something right?  After an hour we put an outfit together but in the end I still think she needs to go on a mini spree (especially if she gets this job) and she needs a pair of leopard shoes.

Below are some of my budget friendly favorite leopard shoes:

I recently bought these shores on Ideeli (LOVE this site) for $20! Such a steal they are Madden Girl shoes and they are "suppose" to be comfortable (according to DSW.com). I haven't received them yet but when I do I'll post an update.
These are for the sensible girl. Tory Burch $235
Shoemint $80. These look super comfy too.

These would be perfect for work and a um job interview. On sale at Ninewest.com for $62.
